Volunteer Guild

Members of Supporting Players donate their time in key projects for the benefit of FRP. The Guild also hosts the annual fundraiser Dark Night Revue. Proceeds are used to help maintain and preserve the historical buildings and property of FRP.

Current projects include but are not limited to:

The Apprentice Feed Me Program – Here is a great opportunity to engage, interface and encourage our Apprentice/Intern Company, all while elevating their culinary and nutritional experience over their summer months at FRP. Family style meals are requested for 24 diners… (including 16 apprentices + 8 interns), to be served in the DanDee Dining Hall on property to the left of the Playhouse Mainstage.

Dark Night Revue – Assist in a variety of ways for FRP’s largest annual fundraiser: become a greeter, join the baking team, help pick up donated auction items, set-up and decorate the day of the event.

Office Support – Assist with administrative office projects, mailings, delivering show posters to local businesses for advertisement, etc.

Hospitality – Assist with transportation of actors to and from Greenville-Spartanburg and Asheville airports.

Membership – Encourage new members to join and facilitate communication with the current members.

Studio 52 Support – Support the growth of educational and young performers’ programming. Examples of volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to: assisting with rehearsals or backstage at youth productions, ushering, hosting parties, and preparing care packages.

Supporting Players is a dues based volunteer group, if you would like to learn more, please contact Volunteer@Flatrockplayhouse.org with your specific interests.

The Ushers Volunteer Guild

Ushers play a pivotal role at Flat Rock Playhouse. The Guild works every show that FRP produces during our season. Ushers are responsible for greeting guests, helping guests to seat their seats, monitoring guests’ behavior during performances, and light clean up after shows. The Ushers Guild is a dues based volunteer group, that also requires training prior to first volunteer shift. The Guild also works on a rewards system; the more shows you volunteer, the more FRP perks you earn!

North Carolina State Garden Club

The Master Gardeners are proud to create and maintain the beautiful surroundings of Flat Rock Playhouse. If you enjoy what you see you’ll be even more inspired by participating. The garden experts share knowledge, skill, and helpful hints at every work session. You’ll see the fruits of your labor with every visit to the Playhouse and have some fun along the way.
