Given the spike in COVID cases locally and regionally, for the time being, Flat Rock Playhouse will require that patrons show either:
Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination
(12 years and older), or
Proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within the 72 hours prior to the performance
start time, or
A negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within
6 hours of the performance start time.
All children 11 and under will show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within the 72 hours (or antigen test taken within 6 hours) prior to the performance start time and wear a mask at all times indoors.
In accordance with these protocols, all guests 18 and older must present a valid photo ID along with their proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test. At this time, masks will be required to be worn properly indoors at all times.
Once tickets have been purchased, guests will receive further details on how to confirm their vaccination/negative COVID test status prior to their show date.
We have come to this conclusion for a few reasons.
All current local data shows increasing infections due to the Delta variant, and local health experts indicate that this growth will not peak until fall.
Industry standards, as demonstrated already with Broadway and a fast-growing list of professional regional companies nationwide, are making this turn to best ensure patron/staff/artist safety, and, hopefully, uninterrupted viability for large indoor businesses as in theatres.
In our most recent survey, patrons indicated that the number one thing that would make them feel more comfortable returning to FRP is for us to offer vaccinated-only performances, and/or proof of negative COVID-19 test.
Flat Rock Playhouse will continue to pay attention to local/state/national guidelines and will reevaluate procedures as needed.
What Flat Rock Playhouse is doing to keep you safe…
We have installed the Pheromeral Aire cold plasma generator technology in all air handlers. This technology neutralizes viruses, removes dust, pollen, dander and other allergens. The air travels through a plasma field that is generating up to 16.7 billion ions a second. It naturally, effectively, constantly and safely scrubs the air clean.
We have also added an Electrostatic Sprayer to our cleaning practices.
An electric charge is applied to a liquid in order to fully cover a surface in
a short period of time, allowing us to spray the entire theatre before and
after each show. This coating disinfectant applies the chemicals in a more controlled and efficient manner while removing germs and reducing
Surface disinfection happens before and after every performance. Our theatre, lobby, and restrooms are sanitized with cleaners designed to kill coronavirus on surfaces within minutes.
Hand sanitizer stations are available upon entering and throughout the theatre.
Employees and volunteers are required to report temperatures and symptoms daily. Anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 or with a temperature of 100.4 or greater is required to remain at home. FRP
full time staff is fully vaccinated and, additionally, will be wearing masks
at all performances.
If patrons are showing signs consistent with COVID-19, they are asked to please stay home and get well.
In addition to following the CDC guidelines, the theatre is abiding by local, state, and federal executive orders.
- For the safety of our patrons, staff, cast and crew, masks will be required indoors for our future productions until otherwise noted.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make every effort
to provide you with an enjoyable experience while keeping you as safe
